How do I enter or waive collection costs and statutory interest?

In a case, you can register or waive collection costs.

In a case, collection costs and legal interest are charged to the customer. However, these costs are not registered in your bookkeeping system. Therefore, it is necessary to enter them in Payt.

You can register the collection costs and legal interest on the page of the case. Choose 'New payment' at the bottom of the page. Alternatively, tick the 'Remission' box here to waive the collection costs.

Did your customer pay the collection case online via checkinvoices.com? Then these costs are marked as 'Paid' by Payt, since we are sure the collection costs and interest have been paid.

Automation for waiving collection fees

You can choose to automatically waive collection costs and interest when the principal amount of your invoice is paid. Optionally, you can set a delay in the automation of a few days.

This automation is set in the administration settings. Go to the cogwheel icon and search for 'Automations' on the left. Here you activate the automation and, if you wish, choose the number of days after which the collection costs can be waived.

Please note: Setting up this automation means that your case will be completed automatically when the principal sum is paid. The collection costs will not be charged to your customer afterwards.
