Sometimes, a collection case should no longer be visible to your customer. In this article, you will learn how to deactivate a case.
It may happen that you have initiated an amicable collection case that is no longer necessary. There are several ways to handle such a case:
- You can waive the collection costs and interest and possibly credit the underlying invoice. The case will be closed, but will still be visible as a completed case for your customer in the online portal.
- You can deactivate the case. This will unlink all underlying invoices, and the case will disappear from your customer's online portal. The invoices will be blocked and can, if desired, be linked to a new case.
How do I deactivate a credit case?
- Navigate to the page of the credit case.
- Click 'Actions' in the upper right corner > select 'Deactivate'.
- Confirm your action by selecting 'Deactivate case'.
- The case will immediately be unlinked from the invoices and will no longer be visible to your customer.
Please note: Deactivating a collection case is permanent. Once a case is deactivated, it cannot be reactivated.
What is the difference between deactivating and deleting a case?
A case can either be deleted or deactivated.
- Deactivating a case: The case is no longer visible to the customer but can still be found in the archive of your Payt environment. This is generally preferred in order to maintain a clear record of what has been communicated to your customer.
- Deleting a case: The case is no longer visible to the customer and cannot be retrieved in Payt. To delete a case, it must first be deactivated.
How do I find a deactivated case?
Are you looking for a deactivated case in Payt? Go to the 'Cases' page (found in the top menu). In the lower-left corner, select the filter 'Show completed cases' and check 'Deactivated' under 'Status'.
