Setting credit limits for customers
Setting credit limits from your accounting software
Depending on your accounting software, you can specify a credit limit for your customer. Payt imports this data and displays it on the customer's page. This option gives you the most flexibility in determining an appropriate credit limit and the calculations used for it.
Setting credit limits based on payment behaviour
Payt can automatically calculate credit limits based on your customers’ payment behaviour. The calculation considers the total amount of all invoices paid within 60 days of the due date in the past 12 months. The upper limit for these automatically calculated credit limits is currently €15,000.
Monitoring Credit Limits via GraydonCreditsafe
In addition to automatic credit limit calculations, Payt also offers an integration with GraydonCreditsafe. You need a GraydonCreditsafe account for this integration.
This integration provides two additional functionalities:
- You can directly access creditworthiness information in GraydonCreditsafe from the customer page in Payt.
- You can enable creditworthiness monitoring, allowing a credit limit from GraydonCreditsafe to be retrieved and displayed.
Please note: The credit limit based on payment behaviour and the credit limit from GraydonCreditsafe require the 'Creditworthiness' module to be activated. You can enable this module via the administration settings.
Monitoring customer credit limits in Payt
Dashboard
On the dashboard, you can add the ‘Customer creditworthiness’ widget. This allows you to see immediately upon logging into Payt which credit limits have been exceeded and which customers are considered ‘Not creditworthy’.
The ‘Customer creditworthiness’ widget is only available if Payt is integrated with GraydonCreditsafe.
Filter on the 'Customers' page
On the customers page, you can use the ‘Credit limit exceeded’ filter under ‘Attention’ to instantly see which customers have exceeded their credit limit.
Additionally, you can hover over the creditworthiness icon for each customer to view the applicable credit limits.
Customer page
On a specific customer's page, you can view the current credit limit. If integrated with GraydonCreditsafe, you also gain access to additional creditworthiness information and customer data, with a direct link to the corresponding page in GraydonCreditsafe.
Invoice timeline
If a customer's credit limit changes or is exceeded due to an outstanding invoice amount, a notification will appear in the invoice timeline.
