If you work with Payt as a dental practice, you can automate the processing of prepayments for treatments.
Setting up a product code for prepayments
To correctly process deposits, you need to create a product code in your dental software, such as 'AA01'.
- Book the patient's prepayment amount using this code.
- Provide the product code in advance to the Payt service desk so that the system can recognize it as a deposit.
Please note: If you do not submit the product code before uploading a prepayment invoice, Payt will not recognize it as such.
How Payt processes the deposit invoice
Once the data has been uploaded to Payt via the declaration upload, several actions take place:
- Payt generates a deposit invoice, which consists of:
- A debit invoice (for the patient to pay)
- A credit invoice (to register the prepaid amount)
- The debit invoice is automatically sent to the patient and followed up according to the standard reminder flow.
- The patient makes the prepayment. Meanwhile, treatments can be performed and, if applicable, sent to the health insurer.
- The remaining invoices are automatically matched against the outstanding credit invoice.
What happens after the prepayment?
Once the balance of the credit note has been used, the remaining amounts will automatically be invoiced to the payments. These invoices will be followed up according to the standard reminder process.
Important considerations:
- The debit invoice for the prepayment is automatically sent and followed up, but you must check whether it has been paid.
- It is up to your practice to decide whether to wait with treatment and/or purchasing materials until the debit invoice (prepayment invoice) has been paid.
