How can I modify customer details in Payt?

In your accounts, you can change the customer details that Payt takes over.

Last updated: October 30, 2023

The details of your customers that are in Payt come from your accounting package. If you want to modify this data within Payt, you will first have to make this adjustment in your accounting package. At the next import, the customer data will be adjusted.

Why is the data I changed not taken over in Payt?

There are several reasons why changed data is not adopted in Payt.

  1. No imports have been made since the change. Payt automatically loads data from your accounts once a day. If a change needs to be processed in Payt urgently, you can start an import manually.
  2. The customer has no outstanding invoice. Payt only loads the outstanding invoices during an import. If a change has been made to a customer who does not currently have an open invoice, Payt only loads this change once the customer has an open invoice again.
  3. A validation error occurred during import. If there is a validation error for the relevant invoice/customer, then no data will be loaded until the error is resolved. On the administration dashboard, you can see if there are any validation errors.
  4. The customer, invoice, or payment condition is ignored. It is possible to put an invoice, customer, and/or payment condition on an ignore list within Payt. Invoices, customers, and/or invoices with a payment condition will not be loaded into Payt. Read here how to use the ignore list.

How do I prevent incorrect data being sent to a customer?

It may be advisable to pause the invoice, case, customer, or administration in question when making changes in your accounting package. This prevents unjustified reminders from being sent, or the customer from receiving an invoice with incorrect information (or not receiving it at all).

To pause an invoice, case or customer, first open them in Payt. Choose 'Actions' at the top right and click the 'Pause' button. Read more on how to pause your invoice, case, or customer.

You can also pause the administration entirely, for example if you are going to make several changes in your accounting package.
