How do I log in securely with SSO in Payt?

Using Single Sign-On (SSO) adds an extra layer of security to your Payt environment. This helps protect your company data and customer information.

Last updated: April 3, 2025

What is SSO?

Single Sign-On allows users to log in once and automatically gain access to multiple applications. Payt supports both Microsoft SSO and Google SSO. If you use Microsoft SSO, you can also enforce it for your entire organisation, ensuring that all users must log in via Microsoft.

Logging in with SSO requires configuration outside of Payt. If you are unfamiliar with this, please contact your IT administrator or consider using 2FA instead.

How do I set up SSO in Payt?

  1. Open your Payt environment.
  2. Click your name in the top right corner to open your profile settings.
  3. In the left-hand menu, go to the ‘Account’ tab.
  4. Under ‘Security’, choose the SSO method you want to activate:
    1. Microsoft* → Select ‘Activate Microsoft Single Sign-On’
      profiel_instellingen_account_microsoft_sso
    2. Google → Select ‘Activate Google Single Sign-On’
      profile_settings_account_google_sso
  5. You will be redirected to your Microsoft or Google account environment. Follow the instructions there.

*Note: Are you the first person in your organisation to use Microsoft SSO? Please contact our support desk. They will activate it for you free of charge.

How can I enforce Microsoft SSO for all users in my organisation?

Microsoft SSO can be enforced for all users in your organisation. To do this, you need admin rights at the organisation level.

  1. Open your organisation dashboard by clicking the Payt logo in the top left.
  2. Click on Organisation settings in the top right.
  3. In the left-hand menu, go to ‘Security’.
  4. Select ‘Enforce Microsoft Single Sign-On for all users’.

The next time users log in, they will be required to use Microsoft SSO.

What if I share my account with multiple colleagues?

Single Sign-On links your login to a personal Microsoft or Google account. This means you cannot share a Payt account with others. If you currently share your Payt account with colleagues, now is a good time to create separate accounts.

You can add unlimited users in Payt at no extra cost. For security reasons, we recommend that each user has their own account.

Can I log in with 2FA instead of SSO?

Yes, you can! If you prefer using two-factor authentication (2FA) instead of SSO, please read this article: How do I log in securely with 2FA in Payt?
